You love family dinners. You just wish the dinner table felt… easier.
Kalmdix is an AI voice companion that joins your family meals. It listens, sparks real conversations, teaches kids good manners through play, and helps parents through tricky moments. Just place your phone on the table. After the meal, kids earn points for the good moments.
Good manners at the table, one habit at a time
Pick one habit, like waiting your turn or saying thank you. Over five meals, Kalmdix leads it as a playful mission, so you don't have to nag.
Games that make dinner anything but boring
The kids pick the topic, Kalmdix hosts the game, gives everyone a turn by name and keeps the whole table laughing.
In the car, too
Long drive? Start Kalmdix before you set off: it chats with the family and hosts conversation games along the way. No screens for the kids, just the phone and your voices.
Conversation games for the whole family
Short games for kids, teens and adults: defend your champion, interview a mayor, tell a story together. The players choose the subject; Kalmdix hosts, gives turns by name and keeps it fun.
Table manners for kids, without nagging
Pick one habit — waiting your turn, saying thank you, asking about someone's day — and Kalmdix turns it into a playful mission over five meals.
Questions parents ask about family dinners
- How does Kalmdix work during a meal? Kalmdix is voice-first. The phone sits on the table and nobody needs to look at it: kids interact by talking, not tapping. It's designed to bring everyone into the conversation.
- How do I get my kids to talk at dinner? Kalmdix asks open questions, launches short conversation games and gives each person a turn by name, so quieter children get space too. The players choose the subject — their hero, their story, their day — which makes it easier for them to open up.
- How can I teach table manners without nagging? Parents pick a habit (waiting your turn, saying thank you, asking about someone's day) and Kalmdix turns it into a playful mission. During the meal Kalmdix never lectures or keeps score out loud; after the meal, kids earn points for what they did well.
- Is it really screen-free? Yes, during the meal. The phone lies on the table and there is nothing to watch: everyone looks at each other and talks. You only tap the screen to start and end the meal, and to see the results afterwards.
- What ages is Kalmdix for? Kalmdix adapts to kids aged 4 to 11 and to teens aged 12 to 17, and parents take part at the same table. Games and habits are grouped by age so each family member gets something that fits.
- Do parents earn points too? No. Only children earn points, levels, badges and meal streaks. Parents can work on a private goal of their own, but they never receive points.
- What data do you collect about my children? The meal is recorded so Kalmdix can work out who said what and award points. Recordings are deleted automatically after 90 days, and you can delete any meal yourself at any time. We comply with GDPR Article 8 and require parental consent for all child accounts.
- How do you keep content safe for kids? Kalmdix is instructed to adapt to each child's age (kids 4–11, teens 12–17) and to keep every conversation family-friendly. Parents are at the table, and every meal can be reviewed afterwards in your meal history.
- Does it work without internet? No — Kalmdix needs an internet connection to talk with your family and to analyse the meal afterwards.
- Can I customize the rules? Absolutely. Parents can add, modify, or disable any of the 100+ built-in rules from Settings. You can create rules specific to your family.
